We are a Christian based surfboard company started in the early 80's by well known Big Wave Surfer, Louis David Lytle, aka "Lou Dog."
Lou Dog surfed with Dick Brewer Surfboards from the mid 70's to late 80's. He howned his shaping skills with the help of his friend and legendary surfer, Richard Brewer. Lou Dog was also inspired in Big Waves by the Old North Shore Crew. He was a popular surfer back then, taking on Sunset Beach, Bonzai Pipeline and Wiamea Bay.
By surfing two to three times a day, Lou was able to bring major changes to Brewers smaller board shapes. He was constantly putting in valuable time in the shaping rooms and his hard work payed off as his shapes were being used in all types of conditions, both on the mainland and the islands. He was considered an extreme shaper by incorporating different ideas to push the surfer to new heights. To date, Lou has inspired thousands of surfers to keep pushing their abilities.
Due to a bad Big Rig accident, Lou was forced to hang up his Big Wave guns and focus of helping all types of surfers keep the stoke on full throttle. He came up with a plan to show the dedicated men and women who serve our country that there are God fearing people out there who care.
Lou and the "shot callers" at Wave Weapons Surfboards decided to offer brand new boards at a special sale price. The results were explosive! 180 boards were sold and the proceeds were used to place nine new boards into the hands of randomly chosen Marines.
Lou Dog gives all the credit to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. When numerous local surf shops condemned Wave Weapons for their kindness, Lou Dog just shrugged his shoulders and praised the Lord. Even though the promotion is over, Wave Weapons still gives a 50% discount on all in-stock boards to Military men and women.
